• What services do you offer?

We offer numerous types of translation services based on various needs, such as translation, proofreading, editing, interpretation, and transcription. Please take a look at our website for more details about each of our services. We will be more than happy to allocate you a Project Executive who will work closely with you to find the best possible solution for your needs.

• Do you provide proofreading?

Yes, we offer both monolingual proofreading, as well as checking and editing of translated materials. Monolingual proof reading works best if you are not sure about the quality of the translated material and require further checks for grammar, spelling errors, punctuation, and terminological errors.

• Do you offer transcription services?

Yes, this task involves an audio or a video file format file. The translator will listen/watch the file content and will either write down the language being listened to or listen and translate into the desired language.

• Can I have a sample/test translation?

Yes, we will offer you a free-of-charge sample translation with 150 words, so you can rest assured of the quality of the project you will entrust us with.

• What quality guarantee does FOCUS TRANSLATION offer?

We have a stringent and thorough checking process for all translators that we hire. They are native speakers living in the country of their main language and working at lease 6 or more years in their field(s) of expertise. We will work with you at every stage of work process to ensure that your project requirements are well understood and properly conveyed to our translators.

• How does FOCUS TRANSLATION guarantee confidentiality?

Upon client’s request, a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) can be signed prior to the assignment to guarantee confidentiality.

• Do lower translation rates mean lower quality?

Lower translation rates do not mean lower quality but the level of service of the translation required. For example, a more technical and specialized translation will often require more time and, as a result, the corresponding time will be reflected in the quote. Furthermore, some of our packages include multiple revisions and a second review by another translator; this means more time will be spent on the translation and therefore the costs will be higher.

• Are there any cancellation fees?

Yes, once the order is confirmed and the project is under process, you will be charged at least 50% of the total translation fee as compensation for the canceled job; however, when the project is at the final stage, it is no longer possible to cancel the project.

• When would FOCUS TRANSLATION ask for partial advance payment?

Based on the evaluation by Focus Translation, large projects may be subject to a partial advance payment. The rest will be payable after the delivery of project. However, if you have already had previous large projects with us, we will be willing to negotiate. In any instance, please contact us for further clarification.

• Can I get lower rates if I use FOCUS TRANSLATION’s services frequently?

Yes!Please note that in many cases the discount will be considered on a case-by-case basis and will depend on the translator’s workload.

• When should I pay the invoice and how can I pay?

Details about the terms of payment will be clearly indicated on the invoice. We accept either a bank  transfer or an online payment via PayPal.

• How flexible are your payment terms? Can you extend the payment terms?

Please let us know in advance if you are not able to pay during the credit period. We will do our best to accommodate your needs by making special arrangements: however, this is not guaranteed. We offer our clients various credit periods tailored to their budget to ensure a smooth work process.

What does the translation process involve?

The translation process involves five main stages.
1. Establishing your main requirements: we will contact you the first time when receiving your project request, all your contact details will be kept as record.

2. Quotation: we will send you an exact comprehensive quotation detailing all costs and items including any applicable discounts.
3. Order Placement: Inform us whether you agree with the quotation so that the project can start.
4. Translation: We allocate a handpicked translator to suit your needs and we work with the translator to ensure the finished translation is up to your expectations.

5. Delivery and Invoicing: The translation is finished based on your specifications and delivered to you along with the invoice for the completed work.

• What information do you need in order to prepare an accurate quotation?

We require the service details including the source and target language, deadline, word count, source file, and any other information that you deem relevant to the project.

• Can you handle extremely short turnaround times?

In most cases, this will be possible. Translators are usually able to translate up to 2,500-3,000 words a day. If the project is large, we may need to use multiple translators at the same time to meet your deadline. In such cases, we may charge extra because of the additional logistical time required to co-ordinate the project.
